Hi, I’m Miyana Wagner. My mom, Sandra, and sister, Sydney have been displaced from the fire. My mom is a single parent and has no other family in Hawaii. She is a business owner and clearly will not have a business or be able to make any income for an unseen amount of time. She is a wedding coordinator, so with canceled events come refunds of deposits she will have to get to the couples and vendors.
Sydney no longer has a job, her job’s warehouse burnt down. She is homeless and has no means of supporting herself for the time being. I want to make sure they can get the supplies they need – food, water, clothing, and shelter. Also to supplement their incomes while they figure out what to do and where to go.
My brother and I are making every attempt to help our family. He is a graduate student in Boston and I am currently residing in Utah. I’m two weeks away from giving birth to my second child so I cannot get to Maui at the moment. We are trying to get both of them out of there for the time being. We will be back to rebuild.
