“We moved into our new apartment 10 months ago. Started to rebuild our lives after losing my wife. The day the fires happened we thought the fire was under control. Little did we know that when we left our place, half of lahaina was on fire. No warning, no evacuations. Later on that evening, we learned that our apartment also went up in flames. Devastated a whole community. I’m heartbroken. We all are. Condolences to all who lost loved ones.”
