My name is Karen, I spent these last few days reflecting on my family’s tragedy in Maui. Some of you know I still have a lot of family there. This is about my Uncle Flo and Auntie Susan and their family. They lost everything in the fires in Lahaina. They’re safe and with the kindness of their community, they for now have a place to stay temporarily.
But starting over will be financially difficult for them and their 2 children. They lost all their personal belongings which now, they’ll need to replace. When the fires happened, they walked out only with the clothes on their back. They’re a kind and hardworking family, they’re always here to help anyone out and now they’re in need and I am asking everyone to please show kindness back.
My uncle worked in the hotel industry for years and my aunt worked at Lahaina Safeway, if you’ve visited Lahaina I wouldn’t doubt they’ve helped you in the past.
