Aloha, I am writing to you on behalf my family & Joi (pup) in Lahaina who have recently faced an incredibly challenging situation. The recent wildfires have taken away their means of livelihood, leaving them without jobs & daunting the uncertainties. They remain steadfast during a great loss. Miraculously, their home still stands, but needs all the help rebuilding their lives. Their daughter Lexi home in Pioneer mill is gone. Their jobs on front street is gone. We will need all the help for the long and challenging road ahead to restore Lahaina & keep them here to stay!
In the collage photo, the backdrop reveals a thick cloud of smoke rising from the wildfire below in Pioneer mill & Kahoma areas viewing on Mauka Lahainaluna from our balcony. Prior to evacuation, my uncle and brother played heroic roles, ensuring the safety of our families residing in the Pioneer mill areas. They took quick action by calling for evacuation, even before the authorities, and ultimately sought safety.
