Bagasol and Ilmeng Family

On August 8, 2023 my family, along with our entire community was forced to evacuate due to a wildfire moving quickly through our town. My grandparents house was one of many homes lost, leaving them with only memories. I never imagined the possibility of losing the home I grew up in. It was more than just four walls and a roof; it represented all the sacrifice and obstacles my family overcame when they immigrated here to have a chance at achieving the “American Dream.” It was our gathering place, the center of every celebration and milestone we shared as a family, and it was our comfort, the safe space we turned to in times of difficulty. My family has never been one to ask for help, but today I’m asking for your help on their behalf. We need a little bit of hope to start rebuilding. Any donations will go toward providing supplies and housing to my Grandma Leona, Grandpa Meldring, Auntie Noemi “Mimi,” Uncle Medy and little cousin Misha as they rebuild their life.
