My family lost their homes in the Lahaina Fire on August 9, barely making out in time with the just shirt on their backs. They are always the first to help, but will never ask for help. My cousin Sabrina and her partner have lost their home and both work in the Lahaina area and are unsure when (or if) they will be able to return to work. My Uncle Derek has lost his home and is still trying to figure out ways to help the community, while he is displaced. We have been able to find immediate temporary shelter for them but will need to find a longer-term solution. They have lost absolutely everything and will need to rebuild their lives.
