We are deeply saddened to announce that our very own teammate has been devastatingly affected by the Maui fires that has destroyed the lives of many. Laukau Filikitonga has been an employee with Nucor Harris Rebar since April 2023. He started with Nucor Harris Rebar on Maui as a trainee and worked very hard to become an apprentice. His work ethic and motivation are driven by providing for his Ohana wife and children. They all made it out safe as he had been working the day of the fire. But his residence has been burned to the ground and all their belonging have been lost. We’d like to extend our Aloha and support to Laukau and his Ohana during this time. Funds will go directly to the Laukau Ohana to begin rebuilding everything they had lost. Please understand that there is no obligation to donate, and Harris Rebar Nucor Steel Seattle will be donating on behalf of Nucor Steel.
